The McGrath Foundation raises money to place breast care nurses around Australia so that women being treated for breast cancer and their families have someone to understand what they’re going through and help them every step of the way. Each nurse costs the foundation $100,000 per year, with a 3 year commitment required for each placement. Read the rest of this entry »

Who of you with your hand up went to the Aroma Festival at the Rocks on Sunday? Wasn’t it fabulous…and because it was spread out so far around the Rocks area you even got to build up an appetite between the Rocky Road, the Fairtrade Chocolate and the Cupcakes. Oh, but we were there for the coffee, lets not forget about that. Brilliant to see so much Fairtrade coffee being offered.
I’m still a massive fan of Toby’s Estate Read the rest of this entry »

Tips for making the boring thankless task of household cleaning a little less dreary.
Use products that smell great and have minimal chemical content. This will lift your spirits (instead of gassing you and giving you a headache) and ensure your skin is protected from drying and allergic reactions. Our suggestions
Playing uplifting music when you are doing tasks you don’t enjoy will make them all the more easy to manage. We recommend Motown or the Bridget Jones soundtrack but whatever puts you in a good mood will do the trick.
Get yourself a cute apron. Think the domestic goddesses of the 50’s who took such pride in their domestic chores. It’s simple psychology; it’s been proven that if you smile for long enough when you feel down, you’ll start to feel happy. So, why wouldn’t it work for cleaning, put on the apron, think domestic goddess and before you know it you’ll be on the phone to McMahon & Tate asking what time Darren will be arriving home for dinner.
We’re not suggesting you become a Stepford wife, not by any stretch of the imagination, and we’re not trying to set the feminist movement back 50 years. We figure that if you’ve got to do these chores then you may as well attempt to make it enjoyable for yourself. It’s something to think about anyway.

We spent Sunday doing some more Cinderella product shots for the website, Peta (our gorgeous model and dear friend) was such a good sport, even when Kelly put enough make-up on her to make even Barbara Cartland jealous, she still managed to keep smiling.
The bar staff at the Glenmore Hotel were looking a little concerned when we set up camp for the afternoon with make-up artists & costume changes. This was my favourite shot of the day for the Cinderella Slap & Tickle Bathroom Cleaner. We all really enjoyed the afternoon, it was fun being out doing girl stuff together. We’re at it again next weekend…can’t wait!
Tell us if you have any ideas for products shots, better still, take your own and send them to us and we’ll post them here on the blog. Come on girls, have some fun!

Before you get too excited ladies, this isn’t a post about outsourcing your household cleaning.
In the April edition of ‘Beauty & Brains’ Bex Gold, creator of Cinderella household cleaning products gave a great introduction on how using conventional cleaning products can actually make your home a more toxic environment. Allergy and asthma suffers need not panic, there are alternatives, plant-based cleaning products contain no toxic elements. So, in continuing with the Gorgeous Things mantra of knowledge is power, let’s explore this subject further. Read the rest of this entry »
