Hands Up Who Likes Coffee?
July 27, 2007Who of you with your hand up went to the Aroma Festival at the Rocks on Sunday? Wasn’t it fabulous…and because it was spread out so far around the Rocks area you even got to build up an appetite between the Rocky Road, the Fairtrade Chocolate and the Cupcakes. Oh, but we were there for the coffee, lets not forget about that. Brilliant to see so much Fairtrade coffee being offered.
I’m still a massive fan of Toby’s Estate but I did try some others on Sunday that were definitely worth the sleepless night I had from caffeine overload. Republica and Sacred Grounds are 2 that rate a mention. Check out The Fairtrade Coffee Company cafe in Glebe for Sacred Grounds Fairtrade coffee sometime, lots of interesting meetings and discussion groups are held there during the evenings too.
Where do you get your coffee from?
One other thing while I’m talking about coffee. Cleaning your espresso machine can now be a green experience. Use the Cinderella Slap & Tickle Bathroom cleaner, it removes scale and the oils from the machine and uses no chemical nasties. The ph is low enough to do the job but it’s plant-based formula means your organic coffee - stays organic!
Just add about 30ml of Slap & Tickle to the water in your machine and allow it to steam through until empty. Refill with just water this time and run steam through again. Your organic coffee stays chemical free.
I’m drinking coffee right now - of the instant variety, unfortunately. All this talk of espresso machines and coffee festivals makes me wish I had something better…
I think you’ve picked a great topic to write on (which will only grow as people become more conscious of the environment and green options). Starting a new blog is really hard work but at least it only gets easier, eh?
