Happy Valentine’s Day!
Thought I’d share one of my holiday snaps with you in the name of romance - I call it ‘Thong Flower.’ I’d spent the morning exploring South Stradbroke Island and because of the recent bad weather the beach was littered with debris, not least of all Thongs. Funny how you never find a pair. I found all these within about 50 metres of beach and there were probably another 40 or so scattered along my walk.

So you want to look fabulous for Valentines Day, if you’re part of a couple then it’s always nice to make an effort for your partner - if you’re single then I say, show those men what they’re missing. Either way we’ve got the Natural Beauty Makeover to have you looking gorgeous from head to toe.
- Sugar Scrub for soft touchable skin
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Olive Oil
6-8 Drops of your favourite Essential Oil
Mix it all up in a plastic container and head to the shower. Use as you would a body scrub but be sure to avoid your face with this recipe as the sugar granules are way too rough for that delicate skin. Do not use this scrub after Sugaring as your skin will be more sensitive than usual. Red and blotchy is not a glamorous look.
- Why Wax when you can Sugar?!
The ancient art of sugaring is the safe and natural alternative to waxing - it’s also much less painful and reduces the severity of those pesky red dots that waxing leaves all over your hair-free legs. You can make sugaring paste from sugar, water and lemon juice and use it in the same way you’d use wax. It hurts much less because the paste sticks to the hair, not your skin. Be sure not to use a skin scrub or tan directly after sugaring as it leaves your skin sensitised.

A mask to brighten you complexion is ideal before popping on your make-up.
1/2 Avocardo
1 tbsp Tomato Pulp
1 tbsp Lemon Juice
Smoosh it all up together to form a paste then spread it over your face. Leave for 20 minutes and wash off with warm water. If your skin is very dry you can swap the Tomato pulp for the same amount of Honey.

Dip your toothbrush in Bi Carb Soda and clean as usual. This will help to whiten your teeth. Another tip is to wear red lipstick with a blue based tone, this is also help your teeth to appear whiter.

Do - make an effort (if not now…when?)
Don’t - kill the romance by having stinky breath by ordering Spag Bol & Garlic Bread washed down with Red Wine & Coffee (unless you both have the exact same meal then go ahead - stink it up!)
Do - remember you can celebrate romance anytime, so if your expectations aren’t met on Valentine’s Day it’s no big deal.
Don’t - restrict yourself to dinner, flowers and chocolates. If you’d rather go camping and drink beer by firelight - go for it! Romance doesn’t have to be traditional, it’s all about doing something you know you and your partner will love sharing. Write a letter telling them what you love about them…frame a photo of you both doing something together…participate in a cooking class at the Fish Markets together. Whatever you do, as long as it’s together, you’re celebrating romance and we could all do with a bit more if that!
