LOOK & FEEL FABULOUS
>>> Naturally Gorgeous Summer Beauty Tips
- Mix a teaspoon of loose Bronzing Powder with 25mls of your favourite Body Lotion for a quick all-over healthy Tan. Great for masking Tan Lines when you want to wear a strapless dress.
- Now more than ever it’s important to use SLS-free (Sodium Laurel Sulfate) products to cleanse your skin as SLS is a harsh drying to the skin detergent that will only encourage your skin to peel after a day at the beach. SLS-free products are gentle effective cleansers that wont strip your skin of moisture.
- Aloe Vera (straight from the plant) or cooled Green Tea will help soothe sunburn and save you the cost of purchasing a separate after-sun product.
- Organic Rosehip Oil is the best product we’ve found to help diminish lines and wrinkles. Twice a day under your moisturiser for a week should be enough to show a result.
- Go for a swim in the ocean - is there anything salt water can’t fix?
>>> Making 2008 Your Best Year Yet
- Set specific and measurable goals. Losing weight is not a real goal - losing 5 kgs in 3 months is.
- Reward yourself when you get there and along the way. One of my goals for 2008 is to be fit enough to surf for 2 hours a day, 3 days a week by the end of February. This involves a regime of Strength and Cardio training. When I reach this goal I’m going to treat myself to a Surfing & Yoga Retreat in Port Macquarie with 2 of my girlfriends.
- Be realistic - don’t set yourself up to fail by setting a goal that is way beyond your reach.
- Be positive - a positive goal makes you feel so much better than a goal that involves you giving up something you enjoy that may not be all that good for you. An example would be to ’start drinking herbal tea in the mornings’ rather than ‘giving up coffee.’ I’m not saying drinking coffee is bad for you but if you know you’re prone to anxiety and stress then coffee is probably not doing you any favours.
- Be original - you know your self esteem is derived from doing things that make you feel good so find something you know you’ll enjoy. One of my gorgeous girlfriends recently started twirling Poi - what the..? It takes a great amount of practice to be competent with Poi or any other form of juggling and it’s a wonderfully unique skill. Is there anything you’d like to be good at? Give it a go!

Gorgeous Things Cruise Director Leeanne Dixon will be back in February with her usual ‘Getting the Most Out of Your Month’ column.
Here’s wishing you the best of luck with your New Years Resolutions. I’ll let you know how my surfing is coming along. Until next time, have a great January and we’ll see you back here next month with some groovy ideas for that lovey-dovey month February and more from the world of natural beauty. Be well, LA x
