Making it easy for women to look fabulous and feel great naturally

Jane McGrath is an inspiration

July 29, 2007

The McGrath Foundation raises money to place breast care nurses around Australia so that women being treated for breast cancer and their families have someone to understand what they’re going through and help them every step of the way. Each nurse costs the foundation $100,000 per year, with a 3 year commitment required for each placement.

Attending a ball on Friday night where part of the proceeds were being donated to the foundation meant I listened to a heart felt (and often very funny) speech by Tracey Bevan (wife of Michael) about her mate Jane McGrath (wife of Glenn) who has been diagnosed with cancer 3 times. It really moved me and I’ll certainly be reaching for the Pink tomato sauce bottle and the Pink M&Ms in the supermarket to help support the foundation. There’s loads of other ways you can get involved listed on their site, there’s a High Tea and a Gala Ball in August.

Just one quick fact that blew my mind. If a woman from the Northern Territory is diagnosed with breast cancer, she has to travel all the way to either Melbourne or Adelaide for treatment.
