Founder of Gorgeous Things, Lesley-Ann Trow now writes a monthly blog for US Women’s Business Magazine PINK.
The blog is contains some fascinating and sometimes amusing insights into life and business in Australia and how sometimes due to Culture, Proximity, Population and Language (and several other factors) this can be very different to life and doing business in the US.
Check out this month’s blog containing my (very tongue in cheek) warning to US manufacturers of ladies underwear that “Thong” may not be the best description for those skimpy shoestring style under garments, as “Thongs” in Australia come in a pair and are generally worn on the feet. It’s a small but important point if you’re planning to launch your line of lingerie in Australia.

So…it’s my Birthday today and although the title of this post may suggest that it’s a not espcially happy occasion…quite the contrary. I’m having a fabulous day thus far and I just thought I’d share a ‘feel good’ birthday ritual with y’all as it helps me celebrate another year and as I’ve mentioned here before…the more often I turn 29 (this is my 5th attempt to date) the better at it I get. Some call it denial…I call it self preservation.
The ritual is one of cleansing and renewal (and no it’s not microdermabrasion and botox) and it has 2 stages.

The poem ‘If’ by Rudyard Kipling has to be my favourite and anyone who knows me well has had it sent to them in a time of need. Share it with your family and friends this year in the hope that we can all spread a bit of humanity and warmth around at a time when many of us just seem to lose our minds with the pressure of ending one year and starting another. bookstore to get myself a copy. I’m excited to read about how doing 2 of my favourite things…eating and drinking can assist me to be gorgeous.
